    About the portraits

All animal portraits are done in colour pencil unless otherwise specified.  I have over 25 years of experience in working in pencil, I find they give me the level of detail I like to have in the portraits. The pencils are artists quality, lightfast (colourfast) acid free and very durable. I spray the finished work with fixative to make it even more so and to protect the art.  Even so, colour pencil work, like pastel, must be framed and protected with glass.  :)

    Time to order.

Animal portraits are extremely popular as gifts, so to avoid disappointment order now for special occasions. Usually I require 3-4 months notice to fit in a portrait for a deadline. An animal portrait makes a unique and personal gift for birthdays, weddings and Christmas or even just to treat yourself.

    My Art

Some of us are fortunate enough to own a pet.  I have two horses, two dogs and a cat and not a day passes that I don't get a laugh from their antics!  There is a special bond that develops between pet and owner.  They can be our prizewinners or our cuddly companions and sadly we usually out-live them. A portrait is a way to keep them close, just the way we know them.  A portrait makes a unique and personal gift and is an investment.

Done in Derwent Artists Pencils from photos I take during a 'get to know your pet' session.  The portraits come framed and the photos I have taken of your pet, along with photos of the progress of the portrait are supplied to you on CD at no extra charge.

Perhaps you have an idea of your own you would like to discuss with me.
